Bad Ass Romance (SWI), ELiX (SWI)
Presented by Rockfact Music Club & IRON-T21
Rockfact Music Club, Münchenstein,  Switzerland – 13.04.2019
At the last performances of Bad Ass Romance at the Rockfact Music Club in Münchenstein there was a party atmosphere and the band around Krokus member Fernando von Arb impressed the audience with a lot of action, joy and passion. Personally a highlight of the spring concert season. For this reason I drove to Münchenstein and hoped for a great experience. When you hit the goal three times in football, you got a hat-trick. Will Bad Ass Romance impress the audience for the third time? The answer to this question followed later. We also had the local TV channel "RegioTVplus" with Dani Wittlin & crew as a guest,
who interviewed a member of our club and the band and then filmed the whole live concert. About two weeks later, an 8- minute report was broadcast several times a day during one week on the TV channel. Many thanks again at this point to Däni & Crew. At 9:10 PM ELiX was on stage. The rock band from the canton of Baselland started to rock with "Spiegelbild". The trio around frontman Andi Signer sings in Basel German dialect and inspires people in a short time. The music is rock with blues and funk elements and is simple music that entertains the audience. Stories from Basel and the surrounding area won over the audience, because local experiences were always more interesting than global events. Besides his singing singer & guitarist Andi Signer showed his skills as a guitarist and integrated solos into the performance. Bassist Tobias Stöcklin added the groove. Drummer Stefan Rohde proved his skills as drummer. In addition to original compositions, a cover version in Basel German followed with "Cocaine" by the legendary, deceased American musician and composer JJ Cale. To honour the deceased dialect rock musician Polo Hofer, his hit "Alpenrose" (composed by the late Swiss musician Hanery Amman) followed and the song "Dr Letscht" finised the performance of ELiX and the band members left the stage. I liked the show a lot and especially they were the first dialect rock band to play in Rockfact. This doesn't happen every day. The performance opened with "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang" by Ted Nugent. Fernando von Arb showed his skills as singer and guitarist. The Krokus member convinced with joy of playing and much passion and had guitar duels with bassist and singer Dan Grossenbacher. The humour wasn't neglected either, because the band members always brought funny jokes to relax the atmosphere. A varied programme with songs from the Rock and Metal scene was shown. And Crossover Blues Band singer Helmi Zürcher as a birthday child was allowed to go on stage and sing a song with them and received a present from the band as a thank you. After the regular set singer and guitarist Fernando von Arb, bassist and singer Dan Grossenbacher and drummer Peter "DeeDee" Kaufmann left the stage. However, the spectators wanted to continue celebrating and asked for encores. These shouts were heard. The Bad Ass Romance members returned to the stage and played four encores with "Panama" by Van Halen, "Bad Case of Loving You" by Robert Palmer, "Tush" by ZZ Top and "Long Live Rock'n'Roll" by Rainbow. After that the show was over and they got a lot of applause for their great performance.
