Gods of Silence (SWI), Virgin Ram (SWI)
Presented by Rockfact Music Club & IRON-T21
Rockfact Music Club, Münchenstein,  Switzerland – 18.11.2017
The band Kirk was founded in the 90’s and attracted attention with their debut „The Final Dance“ in 2003. Appearances as opening act for Doro, Pink Cream 69, Axxis and Shakra followed. One year later Vito Cecere left the band for health reasons and the band took a hiatus. 2009 a new drummer was found with Philipp Eichenberger and everything worked well until 2016. Singer Thomas Rauch left and a new mainman was found with Gilby Meléndez. To restart they renamed to Gods of Silence. A Record release party was hosted to promote their current album „Neverland“  at Rockfact Music Club. Virgin Ram performed as support act. No surprise at all, that not a few visitors wanted to see these bands this saturday.
Virgin Ram entered the stage on 9:15 PM. The local Hard Rock band has a range of cover songs from AC/DC to Judas Priest until ZZ Top and about own songs. The audience liked the performance very much and showed it with applause. Because AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcom Young died yesterday, singer Rob jr. dedicated him the hit „Highway To Hell“. Then the band members Rob jr. , Spidi and Urs Zingg said goodbye to the audience. A great Hard Rock show with a lot of action. The intro ringed on 10:25 PM and Gods of Silence entered the stage and the first song „Army of Liars“ followed. Singer Gilby Meléndez convinced with with his unique voice and enthrilled the spectators. Guitarist Sammy Lasagni showed his skills on the guitar and convinced with riffs and duels with bassist Daniel Pfister. Keyboarder Bruno Berger provided the spherical soundscape which seamlessly integrated into the arrangements. Songs from the KIRK era got played besides current songs. That was a good idea and showed their entire musical work. In turn this was well-received with a positive resonance by the audience. The performance was amazing and the band members left the stage. The spectators didn’t have enough and demanded encores. The members returned on stage and played „Ashes“ and „Shattered Dreams“. Then they said goodbye to the spectators and obtained much applause for their outstanding performance. I experienced a skilled live band with Gods of Silence, which are awesome and kept the audience happy with a great sound. And a band like Virgin Ram was able to play the crowd in the best possible way and gained new fans that night for sure. Livereport and photos by Dominic Latscha
