Snakeskin Boozeband returned last year. The rocking trio from Laufental with singer & guitarist Lukas Franz, bass
player Vincent Perry and drummer Pascal Kohler (The Möles) issued their second album „Open For Boozeness“ through
the record label Sixteentimes Music. It was recorded in the bands own recording studio VIPAL. Michael Stadler took care
of the mixing and Christoph Beyerlein mastered the work. Hans Kühne was hired for the great artwork.
Now it's time to talk about the work "Open For Boozeness". It becomes clear very quickly that the sound of Snakeskin
Boozeband has changed a bit. Influences from the 70s with Greta van Fleet nuances found next to Ace Frehley in the
sound, which suits the young men very well and generates new suspense. Already the title track "Open For Boozeness"
with its catchy, dirty rhythm gets the party started elegantly and provides movement. Singer Lukas Franz shines with his
voice in the chorus and with his talent as a guitarist in terms of rhythm and solos. The songs are about beautiful and sad
moments from everyday life, which writes and also shapes life. However, the listener is left room to draw his own
conclusions. However, there is an excursion into relaxed spheres with "Dead the 20th Day". An absolute unexpected
surprise for me. How I would love to drive a convertible through the California Mojave Desert in the USA and stop at
Rancho de La Luna Studio in Joshua Tree and enjoy this unique ambience with clear starry skies with stoner rock
musicians. Maybe a UFO would come by and take us on a cool intergalactic trip.
If you like to support a young, up-and-coming band with a catchy, exciting sound, this trio is the right choice. They have
created another interesting work after their self-titled debut and it convinces from beginning to end. Hopefully they
receive more attention with the help of Sixteentimes Music. They would definitely deserve it. They’re one of those bands
that deliver such music in a relaxed and casual way on CD as well as live.
