Wake Up Sleep is important for the body, provides relaxation and helps to generate the needed energy to be fit after waking up. During the night we dream and this also happens from time to time in everyday life
when we drift away from reality. The American poet Edgar Allan Poe once said the following sentence about dreaming: "Those who dream during the day are aware of many things that escape those who only dream at night". That might have been one of the reasons why this band chose such a title. In 2014 the third album "Good Night" was released by the Swiss band Duality Of Mind. This work was produced by Lars Christen. Support came from the Aargauer Kuratorium. This is an organization that works to promote contemporary culture in the canton of Aargau and beyond. The quintet from the Fricktal, Canton of Aargau celebrated a mixture of modern metal, hardcore and added elements of electronic music. Describing the music isn’t very easy, because this group managed to create a diversified mixture called "Electro Crossover Thrash" to stand out. It’s followed by loud moments with hard guitar sounds from Lucas Hänggi and Roger Stocker while polyphonic vocals from singer Roger Weber follow. In between there are always harmonic, calm moments to give the singer's voice enough space to develop. Their music on "Good Night" would have been very popular at the beginning of the year 2000, because similar groups like Limp Bizkit, Deftones and many more had a lot of success during the "Nu Metal" movement and were celebrated worldwide for their sound. However, the guys were able to capture this vibe, conserve it and let it flow into their work "Good Night". When a band tries to integrate different influences, they must be careful not to get bogged down in gimmicks. This wasn’t the case here, because they created an interesting sound carpet, which contained American influences from styles like hardcore, modern metal and electronic music. From the beginning I enjoyed listening to this album very much, because it reminded me of my teenage years in the early 2000s and brought back memories of the music of that time. I recommend the songs "Desert Flower", "Good Night" and "Don't Let Go" as highlights on "Good Night". In my opinion these are the hits on this album. 8/12 Review by Dominic Latscha
