 Triple Rock II
Inoxius (SWI), Tubekillers (SWI), Underclass Heroes (SWI)
Presented by Rockfact Music Club & IRON-T21
More than four years passed since the first edition of Triple Rock took place at Rockfact Music Club in Münchenstein. This changed with the announcement of the second Triple Rock edition. Tubekillers were confirmed as local band and two young bands Inoxius and Underclass Heroes from other cantons were added to the program. Three different genres of rock sparked my interest. That’s why I attented the concert. Inoxius had the honor to inaugurate the
evening. I saw the young hard rock band from Bern in an intimate setting in December 2023 and they made a good impression. An intro rang after the song „Nothing Else Matters“ by Metallica and all band members entered the stage at 8:35 pm. They greeted the audience and started with „Breaking out of hell“. The average age was in their early 20s, but you couldn't tell. It seemed they‘ve been doing this all their lives, because the music was great. The solos from the blonde guitarrist Roman sounded marvelous and he put all his energy into and sought contact with string mate Sam to compete in guitar duels under the spotlight. Both changed their positions frequently that the spectators could see them from all sides. Singer Aaron convinced with his rock infected voice and mastered the high screams with flying colors. Furthermore he scored with friendly manner and Bernese German. During the performance, wafts of mist kept shooting out of the speakers. Things slowed down during “The last one” and the invitation to get together with your partner and enjoy this song cuddling followed. Things got faster again with „Burn it down“  and you had to shout „hey hey hey“. Initially hesitant, it became stronger  to the singer's delight.  An introduction of the band came after “Son and daughter”, before a piece of Swiss cultural heritage was covered musically. The song “Trybguet” by the group Patent Ochser got a hard rock dress and sounded great. After “Sailorman”, the last song “Going down” was played and the five-piece said goodbye with lots of applause. They made enormous progress and it was great to see them live. Keep up the good work! I was really looking forward to this band,  it had been some time since I had seen them live last time. At 9:50 pm, the members stood on stage and “Magnifique” kicked off the show. I noticed that Philia was there as a backing singer right from the beginning. She was allowed to sing along with Shiro for the first time on “Antilopics”. She added harmony to the songs with her voice. I also noticed a change in their sound. The alternative rock was played harder, which I perceived positively. The gig was a good opportunity to show a mixture of their previous releases. In “We found the light”, Shiro talked about his bath in the river Birs and how a bottle came floating in and contained a note with the lyrics to this song. However, new songs such as “Lost My Shadow”, “Modern Times”, “Longtime”, “Tomorrows World”, “Noserider” and “The Call” also made it into the set. Their music got played cleanly and singer and guitarist Shiro was convincing with his voice and riffs. Bassist Christian Isler was completely absorbed in the music and sought contact occasionally with Shiro and guitarist Boris. Actually, “The Call” was planned as last song, but some spectators wanted to hear an encore. This was granted with another new song, “The Sky”.  Then Shiro, Eric, Christian, Philia and Boris said goodbye to the audience. It was a good performance by the Laufen District rock band. The Solothurn pop punk band played as the support act for Stürmechopf at Rockfact in December 2023. After an intro, “Creep In The Wall” played. Singer Karim Fiechter gave a good vocal performance and showed his talent on the rhythm guitar. Guitarist Jonas Ineichen impressed with his guitar solos and sought contact with his brother David for guitar duels. This year, the band achieved two highlights with performances at the Summerside and Riverside Festivals. Mixer Stefan Walker received praise from Karim for the great sound, as it was poor at the above-mentioned festivals. He thanked the fans for their support on behalf of his bandmates. Without much talking, they went full throttle through the set and gave an impression of their debut album “Odyssey”. Due to technical problems, Karim had to change his rhythm guitar during the set and Tubekillers bassist Christian lent him one from his band. Great gesture and showed a real sense of rock brotherhood. That's how it should be. After “Smoke and Mirros” came the last song, “Oblivion”. The band said goodbye and received applause. Their performance was good and contained a lot of variety. Although pop punk was considered dead for a long time, the genre will continue with groups like Underclass Heroes. Setlist Underclass Heroes Intro Creep In The Wall Never Call Me Again Odyssey Weak Reflection Self Destruct Greek Tragedy Falling Good Old Days Sick Mind I Let You Go Afraid Of The Dark Smoke and Mirrors Oblivion Conclusion: it was an interesting evening with different rock genres and good bands from the home country. Thanks to sound engineer Stefan Walker, we were able to enjoy a great sound and an interesting light show. Livereport by Dominic Latscha
