IRON SAW BLADE
Rizon (SWI), Fireborn (GER)
Presented by Rockfact Music Club & Jaunty Productions
Recently the band Fireborn from Lörrach, Baden-Württemberg signed a world
wide deal with Deko Entertainment from the USA. They could perform as another
support band of Burning Witches with Voltage Arc on 12.05.2023 at Concert
Factory Z7 in the municipality Pratteln in the canton of Baselland. Their music
caught my attention at first listen and I made the decision to join the gig at
Rockfact Music Club in Münchenstein. Rizon was announced as headliner. The
event was hosted by Jaunty Productions. You got the permission to enter at 7
pm. The banners with the burning bird caught my eye immediately. That aroused
the desire for the upcoming audio-visual spectacle. The time had come at 8:30 pm.
Rockfact Music Club, Münchenstein, Switzerland – 13.05.2023
The power rock group Fireborn entered the stage after an intro and started to perform with „Human“. Singer Jennifer
Gruber hit each note with her dirty rock’n’roll voice and convince with stage presence inclusive blowing hair by a
ventilator. Lead guitarist Dennis Weber inspired with guitar solos. Rhythm guitarist Florian Bucher accompanied both and
had often guitar duels on stage with Dennis. Furthermore Furthermore, there were changes of sides and a lot of passion
was shown. This was reflected in the applause from the enthusiastic audience. Jenny used this opportunity to promote
their upcoming debut "Reflections". It will be released by Deko Entertainment on June 16, 2023. The mood was great
because the spectators integrated themselves into the performance and participated. "Angel in Need" featured hand wave
movements in time with the band. Before "Deep Blue Water" sounded, Jenny shared that this song was released as a
single on 12.05. Jumping up and down occured during "Malicious Rose" and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the last
song was "Set Off" where the audience clapped along with Jenny and her band mates. Dennis was allowed to perform a
cool solo again. After that Jenny Gruber, Christian Lehr, Florian Bucher, Raphael Singh and Dennis Weber said goodbye.
They earned a lot of applause for their amazing performance. 45 minutes exciting music from a young band I’ll keep an
eye on.

Set Off
After that there was a short break. The stage was rebuilt and you could get an overview at the merchandise booth. I was
curious to see how the headliner would present himself. The opening band set the bar high. Rizon was on stage at 9:40
pm. After an intro, "Truth or Consequences" rang out. Since 2020 the band has a Greek singer named Anastasia
Panagiotou in their ranks besides singer Matt Götz. A total of seven musicians on stage, who despite the tight space
perfectly used the room to present an interesting, varied show. It was melodic, catchy music that got into your head and
released a load of endorphins. Guitarist Chris was allowed to sing along with Matt and Anastasia in between and had
guitar duels with his string colleague Reto. This looked extremely cool under the spotlight. During their performance,
fountains of mist kept pouring out of the equipment and enveloped the stage. Matt announced special guest Matthias
"Betschi" Betschart from Radio 15, who climbed on stage, sat down on a bar stool and was allowed to present his new
single as a premiere. It was more blues rock and a nice contrast. The band members of Rizon returned on stage.
Although the music was very cheerful, serious topics like life crisis came up in „Back to the Game“. Matt took an acoustic
guitar in when „Time Till Kingdom Come“ was announced and it became more sensitive. "They used to use lighters, but
now they're cell phone flashlights" commented Matt, and some audience members waved their phones to the beat.
Another premiere followed with "Heaven's Gate". Matt left the stage at "High Noon" because the song was created by
Anastasia and she sang it alone with much enthusiasm. The set came to an end soon with "Fuckin' Rock it", which was
dedicated to Rockfact Music Club and fans. The audience was still hot and wanted the concert to go on. Loud calls for an
encore followed. Drummer Tom sat down and delivered a drum solo with a lot of sweat and elicited emotions from the
audience. After that they were complete again and the first encore was "Run to the Hills" by Iron Maiden. „Nevermore“
was the second encore and the spectators had to sing this word on Matt’s order. Singer Matt Götz, singer Anastasia
Panagiotou, guitarist Chris Götz, guitarist Reto Haehnel, bassist Maik Kindermann, keyboader Marco Küderli and drummer
Tom Lindegger received a warm applause for their good performance. They lived up to the term "prime time" and
managed to thrill for 100 minutes.

Conclusion: It was a wonderful evening with a lot of good music at Rockfact Music Club. In my humble opinion both
bands were equally good and the musical mix was exciting. Jerry Thomas Ferrat and Tobias Schäublin were responsible
for the sound. Thanks to Madeleine Fuhrer of Jaunty Productions for the organization. It was amazing.
